Thank You Response For Pastor At Funeral

Pedarastia: it is high time for a more forceful response by the Church

Benedict takes a few days presiding over the front of this blog and has done so with reason (apart from that I'm little clerk) and the Encyclical "Caritas in veritate "is actually a very valuable contribution. But we are here. What of pedophile priests has me very angry and I can not see the appropriate response of the church hierarchy, nor the Pope, who, as you said Hans Kung in his recent letter to the bishops of the world , has lost a golden opportunity last Friday to sing a personal mea culpa.

And I say it's mea culpa is the minimum. I know that long ago that such acts did not have the same relevance as they have today and were not considered in the same way, I know that similar cases occurred in other organizations, I know that the prevailing culture in society, but everything in the Church, was to hide these facts out an apparently legitimate. Not surprisingly, the Church believed in the ability to have and implement parallel legislation. But as true as it is damage to thousands of people, an injury that has accompanied them throughout their lives, is of sufficient size as to leave little any of these possible "justifications." In other words: regardless of the cultural environment in which these events took place, anyone with a minimum of humanity, of course any Christian home, should have responded with a strong opposition to them, to include the reporting of child molesters to justice.

And now the question is: Is Benedict XVI hidden cases of child abuse as well as bishop or head of the Congregation for Faith? Or put another way, every case that Joseph Ratzinger knew you were reported to the authorities of each country? Logically, I only know the details of the press, but I think enough enough and coming from various sources as to think that possibly the then Cardinal Ratzinger himself could do more of what you did to bring to justice cases of pedophilia became known. But suppose you really did all that was from that perspective. In this case, from the position he was in, should not have started and then a process of informing the public about such undesirable practices in order to raise awareness the whole Church to reject strongly and prevent recurrence?

Sea in one way or another I find it hard to believe that Benedict XVI did not have any responsibility to repent personally in this matter. Therefore, I believe that asking personal mea culpa Hans Kung is fully justified. At least that.

is true that Benedict XVI has taken an important step in condemning pedophile acts in comparison to John Paul II. But it does not seem enough. reading the letter the Church of Ireland , which is part of a wide repository of information on this issue at the Vatican web , I see expressions that are well targeted as it led to victims: " is understandable that you difficult to forgive or be reconciled with the Church. In his name, openly express the shame and remorse felt by all." but I think not enough. Besides, I think too often the letter expresses concern about the image of the Church when it should have focused exclusively to apologize to victims.

For these reasons I join in the petition Hans Kung on Benedict XVI to apologize publicly for the responsibilities that may have incurred in this matter or at least recognizes that not enough was done. But the truth is that rereading the letter of the German theologian bishops, I realize that nothing happens to ask the pope, because he expects nothing from him. As I still have not made the journey that he has done, I stay in the first half. Now I say that I agree with Hans Kung in a number of things by calling the rebellion of the bishops. My question at this point is whether there will be the letter was late, because at what Hans Kung bishops encouraged to rebel?: To Rouco, to Munilla to Iceta? Jo, what future.
