Fantastic article Vicenç Navarro (who have come through Paul ) dismantling the foundations of Zapatero's proposal to raise the retirement age to 67. Bases and a proposal, of course, that respond to deep right-wing ideology. Be sure to read the article: it is very easy to understand and quite enlightening. Note that to me out of slumber blogueril where I was. And I consider this an urgent priority to disseminate Article from more people.
Vicenç Navarro rebate, one by one, all the arguments used by liberals to defend the unsustainability of the pension system. And it does so with clarity, simplicity and an additional convincing data.
who throw against the public pensions system are those who pull against the State and against the public. What's amazing (or no) is that a socialist party that will point to call this car in Europe leads Angela Merkel.
One of the things he says Vicenç Navarro is quite obvious: since when have you been hearing that the pension system would collapse? Navarro said that 50 years ago and used that argument. Yet, they continue to pay pensions (even substantially higher in relative terms than those of the time) and the system maintains an iron. How can that be? Very simple: productivity (ie, the wealth created per hour of work) has grown and continues to increase steadily due to technological advances, improved management systems and the effect of an educational model that even with its shortcomings, has improved considerably in recent decades. That is, every time we generate more wealth with fewer hours of work. But, in addition, says Navarro, we are still far below other countries in the percentage of the workforce and the number of women working in Spain far lower than in other European countries.
In my opinion Zapatero's proposal is the recognition of the inability of the PSOE and the government to promote a modern economy based on innovation and training. They have demonstrated their incompetence in the past, carried away by the siren song of liberal and mafioseo brick, and it shows again with the proposal to delay the retirement age.
This deserves a general strike. UGT and CCOO hopefully do what they do.
